Strøm and Musikforeningen Kapellet (the studio run by 2000F & Raske Penge) have started offering a week-long residency in their studio to electronic music producers: A week in a studio filled with all the vintage electronic instruments & studio equipment of your dreams.
In December 2024, Anastasia Kristensen was the second producer to enjoy a residency at the location.
What do you think about the studio?
“I think the opportunity to come play with vintage and new gear is a fantastic idea. I am a VST queen, so trying this out for a whole week was a great experience! Also the whole place is super community oriented which adds to the encouragement to produce more music.”
Which one was your favourite machine?
“I liked all three that I played with: PPG Tune 2, Prophet One and Sequential.”
How did you spend your time in the studio?
“I added analogue effects to the synths and recorded a jam session, finding a lot of textures that were pretty fascinating.”
How are you going to use this week’s work?
“I will definitely be implementing it in my future productions. That analogue grain you get from these jams is hard to achieve digitally, so this uniqueness is worth bringing on board.”
All artists in the residency have been given the task to leave something for the next one in the studio. What’s your contribution?
“I made a sample package called ‘Polar Gloom Sounds’ to reflect the wintery, eerie and mystical atmosphere through my recordings. It was all recorded right in the middle of December, so the vibe really matches.”
