ABOUT
SUPPORTING AND DEVELOPING ELECTRONIC MUSIC CULTURE SINCE 2006
INSTITUTION FOR ELECTRONIC MUSIC
Since 2006, we have supported and developed electronic music culture through artistic programming, education, knowledge sharing and community building.
Our mission is to make electronic music accessible to everyone while strengthening the electronic music ecosystem.
What began as an annual festival in Enghaveparken, Copenhagen, has evolved over two decades into a year-round national platform.
Today, Strøm presents music and education programmes of various formats across Denmark, creating spaces where newcomers and dedicated artists alike can engage with electronic music. We work with formats such as concerts, education, workshops, talks, installations and residencies.
We strive to build lasting cultural infrastructure by facilitating artistic experiences for broad audiences and supporting local music communities. We also nurture the next generations with music production education while sharing the rich heritage of this vibrant culture.
Strøm (Danish for ‘current’ and/or ‘electricity’) reflects the energy we bring to our work. We are a non-profit organisation supported by the Danish Arts Foundation, the municipalities of Frederiksberg and Copenhagen, as well as public and private foundations and strategic partnerships.
We believe electronic music is a vital art form and are committed to ensuring it remains open, diverse and accessible to all.
